Musical Musings – A fugue from the archives

Image: A sketch probably of Henry Richard Greville, 3rd Earl of Warwick, in ‘Van Dyck’ dress – presumably for a ball. WCRO CR1886 / 624.

I’ve contributed a short piece and recording for ‘Our Warwickshire’ on a musical manuscript dated August 1827 found in the Warwick Castle Archive. It was presumably written as an exercise by a student to be transposed for string quartet.
